St Rocco's Hospice, Warrington
St. Rocco's Hospice was established for two main reasons. Firstly to promote facilities for the care of those who are terminally ill, and secondly to provide support for their families.
St. Rocco's is the only facility of its kind in the Warrington area. It is here because local people wanted it and because local people were prepared to support it.
The Hospice provides a high standard of medical and nursing care in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and offers compassion and medical support.
The Hospice offers the following facilities:
1. In patient unit
2. Day Care facilities
3. Bereavement Counselling.
4. Advisory and Educational Services
5. Complimentary therapies
The present cost of running of the Hospice is over £1,600,000 a year. That figure will rise with the planned Hospice expansion and the development of further services. At present St Rocco's receives only 20% of this amount from the state.
The other £1,300,000 has to be raised each year from donations, events, the hospice lottery and via the eight St. Rocco's Hospice charity shops.
