Every year we save thousands of lives through our pioneering research into heart and cardiovascular disease. We provide vital information to help you reduce your own heart health risks and we also support and care for heart patients, helping them understand and cope with their illness.

We constantly strive to keep our costs as low as possible in all sorts of ways, such as using email rather than post when we ask for donations.

83p out of every £1 we get is made available to spend on pioneering research, vital education and information and care for heart patients. Just 1p is spent on governance (how much it costs to run the charity).The remaining 16p is used to fund activities that make more money to beat heart disease.

More donations allow us to do more work. For every £1 we spent on fundraising in 2008-09 we raised another £4.46 to spend on beating heart disease and saving lives.
