About the Toby Lloyd Cockbain Charity

In August 2003, Welsh rugby international Brent Cockbain and his wife Kate had a little boy they named Toby. When he was just 10 months old, Toby developed a rare brain tumour and very sadly a few months later died aged just over one year old.

Brent and Kate were devastated and have since established the Toby Lloyd Cockbain Foundation to raise money and support children with cancer and their families in Wales. Brent and Kate aim to raise money that can be used to buy vital medical equipment to fund important research, and provide facilities and services - from playground equipment to computers - to improve the quality of life of children undergoing treatment for cancer.

"Our reasons for starting the Toby Lloyd Cockbain Foundation were many, but mainly it was because of the love we had for Toby, his love of life and the wonderful memories we have of him. We also wanted to use my sporting profile to help children with cancer.

We have had the opportunity to make a difference to these children's lives and in that we have been fortunate. We are very proud in Toby's name to be supporting families who are in our situation."

"Toby was a beautiful little boy. He had the happiest personality, the most infectious giggle and he loved people.

Our lives were one big social whirl with all the clubs and groups Toby and I went to.

I miss Toby desperately but I will always have the memories of our special time together".
